To the Gwaltney and Miller families:
I briefly met Kim in Novmeber while with my daughter Michelle Hastings at the Undy 5000. I remember thinking how beautiful she was and how awful that women like our daughters had to face this terrible disease. I will wear an extra blue ribbon at this year's walk in her memory. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you.

I found Kim's blog while searching for others who, like myself, have colon cancer. I am so sad for all her friends and family, especially those beautiful children. She seemed to be such a loving, strong woman. May she rest in peace with her Savior.

I have been following Kim's blog for some time now. I think I've only commented a few times. Because of Kim I went to the doctor and had a colonscopy because I was having some weird symptoms. I was just going to let it go and consider it nothing, but then I came across her blog and realized that those symptoms weren't going to go away and to do something about it. I went to a few doctors, had the colonscopy and walked away with a very good outcome and much more educated. I will forever be grateful to her for sharing her story. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you.
I am so sorry for your loss. She was an inspiration to everyone and she will be dearly missed!

Oh my sweet Kimmie.......I wish I could see how beautiful you look in your white angel gown in heaven right now. Words can't express how sad we all are right now, but at the same time, how thankful we are that you are finally in peace and don't have colon cancer anymore. You always said you were going to beat this........well, you did Kimmie! You did! You are now cancer free and a beautiful angel where your Father in Heaven needs you most. Oh how we all love you and will miss you until we see you again on the other side! Much love....
Stefany and the Pew family!
My husband works for the Goodyear Fire Dept and I have been following Kim's blog since her fight started. We are so sorry to hear of her passing today! Your family is in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time!

We had the privilege of interviewing Kim and her family for our Pay It Forward segment. What an amazing woman with strength and grace. It was an honor to share her story with the Valley.

I was very saddened to hear about Kim's passing. I met Kim at Banner Estrella while she was admitted to the ICU. She was my patient... an unforgettable one at that. Her presence was indescribable. Although she was ill, she carried a refreshing glow. While I know that words are only a small gesture of support, I want you to know that her spirit has touched many people's lives as it has mine. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Gwaltney & Miller Families:
Keeping you in thought & prayer. May God Bless & Guide you through this difficult time. Kim was an incredible woman with an amazing spirit. Her journey through this illness touched many hearts. We were honored to know her and we will miss her! Hugs! The Collins Family
My heart is so sad. I just can't wrap my mind around this. I cannot imagine how your family is feeling. Your faith kept you so strong throughout all your burdens. I now believe that God is continuing to answer your prayers and that they will ring in His ears for years as He watches over your family, with you by His side. I know you had told me you wanted to beat this because you had so much to do in this life. In your short time you have inspired and touched so many people. You have accomplished more than most people can even hope to. Your positive attitude throughout all this is something I hope I can learn from and carry throughout my life. In honor of you Kim.
Heather
Thinking of you tonight. Kim's an amazing woman. Though short, Kim's life was extremely full. She has touched so many people's lives with this experience and attitude that not many would have. Still amazed by her incredible bravery, strength, inspiration, and love for life. What a positive example to all of us. Everyone who met her, couldn't help but love her. I will truly miss her, but I know that she is finally well. What a fight...what a woman!
Kim was such a tremendous person! A vibrantly bright candle that ushered in the light of faith, hope and healing in an otherwise bleak world. A candle that has forever left us all changed for that passion, that zest for life which utterly enriched us all. Kim served as an inspiration to us all of dignity, living life, love, faith and charity. Our family will never forget her and the example that her legacy leaves behind.
Deron, our family will forever be here for you, just as you have always been here for us over the course of time. I am so proud and honored to call you my warrior-brother! So proud of you and your beautiful family.
My prayers continue to go out toward the Miller family and all of you. May God keep you in His loving embrace, until all are one.
Hi, I am a friend of Moniques. I want you to know I am praying for you and we will be praying for you at my church too. This is a beautiful blog. And you seem like beautiful people.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I will continue to pray for your family during this difficult time.
I bumped into Kim at Ahso earlier this year. I had heard her story and had been following this blog for some time before we met. While talking to her, I felt so inspired and blessed to have met her. She was an amazing woman who has touched so many people through her courage, hope, and strength. I will be praying for your family. God & his beautiful new angel are with you!
You have touched the lives of so many, you will be greatly missed!
Our most heartfelt condolences to your entire family during this most difficult time. You continue to be a source of strength and inspiration to so many others. Thank you for sharing your hearts with us.
God Bless,
The Traina Family
My heart aches at the passing of Kim, but my soul rejoices that she is pain free and at peace. I met Kim when she was at patient at BEMC in the ICU and began to follow her blog after she kept telling all of us nurses that we had to! It was at that time that I realized that Kim Miller the patient was actually Kim Gwaltney who I had heard so much about from my husband Desmond who went to highschool with her. I want you to know her will and determination to beat this and her glory to God even in her darkest moments have been an inspiration to me and made me realize what is really important in life. I admire her for her strength as a wife and mother to fight this and in the end Kim you still won. Thank you Kim, and all of her friends and family, for allowing us to share in your struggles and successes throughout this journey. My prayers are with all of you in this difficult time.
With love,
Kim Branston and family
My thoughts & prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Thank you for sharing your journey. I know that Kim's life will inspire and help others! God bless you all!
I loved reading the stories, and kept Kim in my prayers.
I find peace knowing that she is no longer suffering.
My heart goes out to her friends and family.
So sad :(
God is good, and has completely healed her.
Much love to you all.
C.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game. Great game, Kim.
Dear Gwaltney & Miller Families,
Our deepest condolences to you and your extended family & friends. Kim was a blessing & gift to all who knew her. Kim carried the light of Christ with her throughout her life. Although her candle burned out too early, she will continue to be a light to others. We count ourselves blessed to have known her as a friend, co-worker & neighbor. You will all be in our thoughts & prayers now & always. May God bless you, guide you & keep you in his care & grant you his peace & love to strengthen you during this difficult time. I used to tease her about people always asking if she was a "movie star" since she always had an entourage wherever she went. She is now an angel star lighting up heaven with her smile. Our love & blessings to you. Please let us know if you need anything at all. Daron call whenever you need anything. We will cherish her.
Love & Blessings,
Gloria, Patrick & Katharine Lee
Deron, Nan and all Kim's friends and family,
I'm so thankful to have gotten to spend time with Kim and all of you and get to know you all. I know all of us here already miss Kim and all your faces. I loved coming to work and knowing that I'd get to see Kim and just maybe get a couple of her dirty looks that she liked to give to me cause I reminded her of her aunt Cathy. Again, I'm so sorry and thank you so much for sharing your and Kim's life with me. Please let me know if I can be of any help.
Much love,
Jessica
(one of her respiratory therapists)
While we know you've found well deserved peace, our hearts still ache. We want to celebrate your next journey, but feel so much sorrow in your absence. You were an inspiration to those who knew you and of your courageous battle. You made the world a better place with your spirit, and now heaven is filled with it. Until we meet again, please protect and watch over us.

I am a stranger to your family, I knew of Kim's story through a mutual friend and have followed her blog since then. What an amazing person, she has changed my life with out even ever having met her. I am also 29 years old and also have two children and can't help but put myself in her shoes. Because of her I will be a better mother, wife, and friend everyday and know how very precious life is.
Just know that heaven is a shining much brighter with Kim there and someday you will all see her again that I am sure of!!
I met Kim at light house church, her beauty was amazing, there was a light abought her. I know God has given her complete healing now! I will pray for peace for her family! Missy
I never met Kim but I feel like I have. I have followed her blog all summer and have been praying for her. May your memories of Kim be of comfort to you and may the Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you in the days to come.
I am so sorry to hear of Kim's passing. Your family will forever be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Kim got her wings.
Sweet Kim. You have touched so many with your love, kindness, radiance, and strength. Even though physically you had to leave too soon, your spirit will forever be with us all.
Love you.
Bre
I'm so sorry! She fought hard! Love to all of you!
Becca
I have no words that will make Kims passing any easier, but I do know she has her angel wings and will be in so many of our hearts that followed her journey.
Deron, if you and the kids ever need a place to get away, our small home is open to you.
I started following Kim's blog before Christmas last year and I have checked it religiously since. Although, I met Deron once in passing, I've never did get to meet Kim. Her optimism always amazed me. My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family at this time, especially the children. I'll continue to pray for the quick healing of their little hearts.
Remember:
When a child is born the heavens weep and the Earth rejoices. When one dies it is the Earth that weeps, yet the heavens rejoice.
Kim will be missed, but not forgotten.
I came across Kim's blog while searching for others who, like me, were battling colon cancer. We actually at one point were admitted at the same time to Banner Estrella. I found strength in myself through her strength. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you and the children as you embark on a journey requiring strength, patience, and faith. Kim was an amazing woman who empowered each and everyone of us in the ICU at Banner Estrella. God is truly blessed to have Kim in his Kingdom, for he will feel her strength, her power, and her love and in return allow you to feel peace. I have seen remarkable things in my career that have allowed me to open my eyes to the power of God. God does not give us tragedy; however he gives us the strength to overcome them. He leads us onto our path with this strength, just as he will for you.

May God comfort you during this hard and tragic time. I do not know Kim, but have followed her blog since January. My heart goes out to you and your family. God Bless you and you family. Let the good Lord help you during this very difficult time. Kim will be missed, but not forgotten.
Love,
The Snow Family
I am so very sorry for your loss. I met Kim last summer before her diagnosis and we hit it off. She was such a great person to talk to, beautiful and her smile lit the room. She spoke so proudly of her family. Her and I spoke only a few times after her diagnosis but I followed her journey on her blog. She had such strength and hope and she is encouraging to all that knew her. I hope you are able to find strength in the fond memories you have with her!
The Spitzock Family
My thoughts and prayers go out to Kim's family and especially her sweet kids. I did not know Kim personally but it was obvious that she was a blessing in each life she touched.
